I hope he still remember me as a deaf guy that he and I talked together in Houston Texas when he played the drum for the Lord. ??? I am sorry to hear that his dad died. My name is Richard Acosta and I was Blessed to have the opportunities to meet Dr Robert A Sabin a True Modern Day Pioneer and Champion of the One True G-D! I first met him in 1984 in National City California and went to his seminars every chance I could! DR Sabin's impact on my life is Forever as he is one of My Heroes of the Faith! Nobody ever explained in Full Detail the Truth of who Jesus really is like Dr. Sabin! I am so Blessed to have met and been taught by such a Wonderful & Great man as Dr Robert A Sabin!

When I remember my time at ABI I remember Bro. Sabin's steady hand and the sounds of his magnificent trumpet. He is still with me after over 40 years. Missed but not forgotten.

Two or three years ago I found online by chance whoisjesus.com. On that site Sabin wrote that there are over 10,000 Bible texts that either implicitly or explicitly declare the absolute, solitary Oneness of God.
The beautifully concise teachings I have read are wonderful. I am about thirty-four years blessed with the understanding of who Jesus is. Sabin teaches this so well. Wish I had known the man personally.

February 9, 2015

I am so sorry to learn of Bro. Sabin's departure from this life last October. It was such a blessing having Bro. Sabin share in one of our campus ministry sessions many years ago when he visited Pentecostal Tabernacle, Kingston Jamaica. His sincerity, timely handling of the word of God continue to inspire. As a new convert then, there was nothing to us like Bro. Sabin's message: "A Fresh Confirmation of a Simple Truth" - a message I believe he preached at a UPC Gen. Conference. I was just searching for an article Bro. Sabin had published on Sir Isaac Newton's inquiry of the nature of the Godhead, when I saw "Obituary". Heart felt condolences to the Sabin family, near and far. I am thankful to have met Bro. Sabin.

I am Bro. D. Edwards - currently living in Baltimore, MD.

I've just heard of Bro. Sabin's passing and am deeply saddened. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I will keep you all in my heart and thoughts. He has touched my life SO much, even though we lost touched throughout the years. He was a best friend to my mom and he baptized me as a child. He was such a kind soul to my brother and I, that when we were younger he didn't mind us calling him Grandpa because he knew we didn't have one. He showed us nothing, but love and for that I will forever be grateful. It breaks my heart that the world has lost such a FANTASTIC person. Much love to you all.

I have just learned of Bro. Sabin's passing. Very Sad. What a Great man of God that he was.....teacher..and as it has already been said he was a very kind man. He always made you feel good about yourself an what you were doing .....he built up your confidence. Especially once when he asked me to sing a song. He believed in me. When I was not sure of my own self.
Will certainly miss Bro. Sabin. A.B.I. Class of 1974.

I am not sure my earlier attempt got sent as I may have hit a wrong key---he was an affable man, who once complimented me as I had accompanied a couple at ABI...knowing him a musician his remarks were appreciated. over the years we had encounters ever so brief at camps, conferences, ABI events but he always remembered me---God can comfort his family , host of friends.

If there were in this day an apostle like man , I would certainly choose Robert Sabin. I know that he did not formulate doctrine that was the action of the apostle. Robert Sabin knew the word of God which he gave in a most reverent manner. John13: 16, Neither is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. Sabin an (Humble Man) .

October 22, 2014

I am grateful that my life intersected with the life of Bro. Robert Sabin , my pastor, teacher, mentor & friend. He impacted my life with his teaching, I especially appreciated his religious analysis classes but most of all that he inspired and motivated me to memorize scripture, a lasting impact on my life. One message stands out that he preached "The Noise in God's Ears". The drama that he directed our first year ABI class In 1973 was the best in my memory. I'm so thankful I was able to see him in 2006 at a breakfast on my way through St. Paul in 2006, on my move to Western Canada. "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you..."

My Pastor, Eddie Guinn, would talk with Robert Sabin while I was in Pastor Guinn's office. These men love each other. Both would tell the other that he should come and pastor with the other. They both knew the pressures of pastoring, loved people and you have to love people/pastors like these great men. Memories live on in my heart and mind. Thank you Jesus for Bro. Two sermons Robert Sabin spoke in the early 80's will never be forgotten and continue to be a big part of my thought life: About Abraham "looking for a city which has foundations whose builder and maker is God" and Moses living his life as "seeing Him who is invisible". I am so thankful that God used him significantly to impact my life. He is now with Abraham and Moses and Jesus in that city and seeing ever so clearly the Invisible One. Farewell friend. My sympathies to the family. He will be dearly missed.

Robert Sabin was a great Christian, Bible Scholar, and prince of a man. He intersected my life multiple times and was always a blessing. As the Apostle Peter, he cast a long shadow that continues to positively affect the Body of Christ, long after this passing.

As a graduate of ABI in 1987, I remember Bro. Sabin very fondly. What stands out are his teachings that God is One Spirit and that He is Love. Pastor Sabin's own life reflected this...can any man leave a greater legacy?

Pastor Sabin made a huge impact on my life. He was my Pastor for 9 years and Bible school teacher for 2 years. He is probably the best scholar I have ever heard and may ever hear again. I will never forget putting on a skit that I wrote in the Drama/Debate class at ABI. I was a little floored that he chose mine over the others. Pastor Sabin made a wonderful impact on my daughter as well. My oldest daughter was baptized by him of which I will never forget. I learned so much from him and I still will read some of the Bible studies that were given during church services. I am so thankful that he was my Pastor. I love him and miss him. Prayers for his many friends, relatives and family!

I consider all of the Sabin Brothers my best friends. I see some more than others, but, if you know them, then you know just how good it feels to spend time with them.

Robert's warm handshake coupled with his heart felt greetings always left you feeling that he was genuinely happy to have met you or seen you again. Every encounter I had with Robert was a rich experience that left me feeling good. His parting leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but having known him, we all know he would want us to celebrate his New Life!

God Bless and remember all the Good time as we know Robert would want us to!! We are all enriched by having been able to call him a friend! We Love you Brother Sabin. God's speed.

Rev. Robert Sabin was my pastor at ABC, teacher at ABI, and secondary father and best friend at 2235 Falcon ave. where we lived 1 block from one another for 10 years. He was without a doubt, the most honest compassionate and true person I have ever come in contact with in my 60 years on this earth! In the late 60's and 70's I traveled with Brother Sabin to church camps in Wisconsin and Iowa as a teenager trying to find myself. He was the role model I needed during those teenage years of mine. Every camp meeting he spoke at as the guest speaker was absolutely god blessed and an unbelievable religious experience. When I graduated from high school he gave me a bible which I still have today and included words that directed me to attend ABI and signed it with this ‘your Pastor and friend' Robert Sabin. I did attend ABI and during my first year he called me into his small office and asked me to sit down. It was there during the late second semester of first year where he told me what he expected from me while attending ABI and what he saw as my future. He said you will be assigned to the lead role of Lot in the upcoming ABI 1st year drama and during that role you will find yourself and that is where your life's roll will present itself to you. As anointed as he was in God's wisdom, he was correct as I saw the vision for my life as we prayed on stage at Harding High School at the conclusion of the 1st year drama. I opened my eyes, and in row 1 was my pastor and teacher looking me straight in the eyes. He knew I had been given the vision and he smiled back at me. Sadly, Just like Lot I made the wrong decision in life, but my pastor, teacher and friend never stopped holding out hope for me. He will be sadly missed on this earth but he has left to meet life's maker where he will be rewarded for his entire life's dedication benefiting all he came in contact with. I will miss him and will never forget him, we all love you Brother Sabin.

Bro. Sabin was my teacher, pastor and inspiration while I was in St. Paul from 1974-1988. I'll always remember his playing the trumpet and his anointed preaching. Most notably, his message, "What Are You Going To Do With Your Life And When?" I challenges me to this day. He once told me, "Never let school interfere with getting an education." Thank you Bro. Sabin for teaching me not only facts, but about life. Prayers and blessings to his family.

Where does one begin. I remember his passion as he taught his classes at ABI. He not only imparted knowledge but he imparted hunger and thirst for the things of God. No matter what he taught he taught with passion. The messages he preached were always great. On orchestra tour he brought out the best in us. I had the privilidge of doing the music in one of the dramas he directed at ABI. He pushed us to be creative and reach people through drama. One person received the Holy Ghost during the drama. He made a great impact on my life. I have tried to preach and teach with the same zeal, knowledge and compassion that he showed to us. What a GREAT man of God. He will be missed.

It was as if he was introducing me as a minister to the world, He had that gift. The light bulb above his head reminds me of the Oneness of God.

Roger Barcus

October 20, 2014

Robert Sabin influenced my life in many ways. I was a member of Midway Tabernacle .6 miles from where I now pastor, where he played the trumpet and led the orchestra. I play the trumpet. He was our Youth Leader for many years took us to various events in the Cities that impacted the youth to know, "there is more that us four and no more". It was a question to him about God that turned the light bulb of the Oneness Revelation on in my mind right outside room 204 in November 1966 during my second year at ABI where he was our favorite teacher: "To wit, God was in Christ..." It was his sermons, "For me to live in Christ" and "I have not attained", that sent me to my knees in humility to want more of Jesus Christ in my life. In class he spoke of driving through the towns of MN and "lusting to start another church" that set a tone in my life to work for God in Home Missions. At the end of my senior year, I took my teachers out to eat one or two at time. Bro Sabin introduced me to sweet and sour pork in downtown St. Paul. I guess that meal set the tone for life - some sweet and some sour and thus the feelings I have at his passing. I miss the wonderful memories I have of a very gifted man of God.

My best friend wrote to tell me of Bother Sabin's passing, my heart sank, could this huge man who loves Jesus Christ with all of his heart, soul, strength and might be no longer with us? The writer of his obituary was so correct, he made you feel that you are the absolute very best and there is no one on earth he would rather be with other than you.
I am fortunate to have known him as my pastor and friend, his teaching, his passion are priceless, he challenged us all to study and to know God and Jesus Christ, I can't be anything else "as we use to call ourselves" but a Sabinite, I always looked for something new, something he has discovered, something God Almighty showed him, the last time I met with him was at a restaurant and we discussed the Grace of God, oh how he was light up, he said Eli it's not about you or me it's about Jesus Christ. And correct he was it's about the ultimate sacrifice God-Jesus Christ he made for us.
To Margayla and his family, you not only lost the best but us also, and I feel bad for anyone and everyone that never got to know this Great man of God like we did

His impact upon my life and lives of my family cannot be measured. He has now met that wonderful God he so passionately preached and taught us about. Had lunch with him last summer-when we spoke of Scriptural things, his countenance seemed to light up and I, again, had the privilege of gleaning Spiritual insight through my spiritual father, my mentor, and our family's close friend. Thank you, Bro. Sabin.

I will remember his wonderful sermons and teachings that made such an impact on my life. I will remember the 3 orchestra tours we went on. Bro. Sabin started the church here in Dubuque, there are many of us who would not know the Lord if he had not had the burden to come down here. What a great man of God! This one man had such a huge impact on so many and he will be greatly missed. I guess the best way to honor him, is to carry on and live the teachings Bro. Sabin taught us.
