Brian Van Etten Obituary
COLD BROOK - Brian E. Van Etten, 69, of Cold Brook, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017, at Heritage Health Care Center, with his loving family at his side.
He was born December 13, 1947, in Utica, a son of the late Edward and Barbara Coggins Van Etten. Brian was retired from Whitesboro Central School District. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Violet; ten children, Lee (Linda) Van Etten, Whitesboro, Amy Van Etten, Whitesboro, Brian (Jen) Van Etten Jr., Gloversville, Tanya (Charles) Semeraro, Utica, Rian (Carole) Van Etten, Ilion, Mandy (Brandon) Van Etten, New York Mills, Amber Van Etten, New York Mills, Tammy (Jim) Steates, Oriskany, James (Miranda) Steates, Clinton, and Michael (Laura) Steates, WV; 20 grandchildren, including Brandon Steates, with whom he shared a special bond; three great-grandchildren; three siblings, Bruce (Laurie) Van Etten, Whitesboro, Sue Van Etten, Marcy, and Ronald Van Etten, Whitesboro; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Heritage Home for their wonderful care and patience.
Brian's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 17th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro.
