Raymond T. Rivera 1956 - 2021
UTICA - Mr. Raymond T. Rivera, 64, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
Raymond was born in Boston, MA, on August 30, 1956, the son of Eladio and Sally DelRio. He was raised and educated locally, was a graduate of Remsen High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Burlington College, New Jersey. For 20 years, Raymond was employed with St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica and more recently, with Utica College.
aymond was a big sports enthusiast, enjoyed eating out in local restaurants and was and avid coin collector.
Raymond will be remembered as a good man with a big heart. Family was very important to Raymond, especially his beloved Nora, children and grandchildren, who were the joy of his life.
Mr. Rivera is survived by his longtime loving companion, Nora Rizzo; one daughter, Amanda Rivera, of NY Mills; three sons, Raymond Rivera, of Utica, Keith Rivera, of Ilion and Andrew Rizzo, of Utica; his stepchildren, Honor Rizzo, of Utica and Kelly Vasquez, of Syracuse; one sister, Gloria Rivera, of TX; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Peter DelRio, of Niagara Falls, NY and John and Elsie DelRio, of FL; as well as eight cherished grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Raymond's Life will be held at a later date when safe health conditions permit.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.

This was a fine human being who loved his foster parents as if they were his biological parents. He honored them throughout his life and loved his siblings, blessing each one of them. We were honored to have him, as were his own family. God bless each one today.
