My husband and I first met Richard DePaul when we saw him in Yorktown and bought his painting of a garden in Colonial Williamsburg. It was our anniversary gift to each other. I recognized he had the ability to painting architectural structures from our purchased painting. I commissioned him to paint my families Illinois farm. He created a wonderful painting from our family snapshots and verbal descriptions of it. When it was completed, we had copies made of it to provide to each branch of my family. This painting has been appreciated and loved by my entire family for years. We have continued to buy several others of his works, but our favorites remain the first and our family farm. We were saddened to learn of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers to Janet and the rest of his family. Barry and Pat Hood
