Donald Greene was a staunch advocate for the maximum education of the residents of the District of Columbia. I was in school with his son, Ronald. at Jefferson Jr. High, and met Donald Greene 18 years later as a colleague at the University of the District of Columbia. He gave much to so many young people in support of their success and he defended their right to a great education all of his working life. What a deep and profound loss to the City, the D.C. Public Schools. and the University. With Honor!

Donald L. Greene was a great educator and a highly effective advocate for equal educational opportunity. Always a smile on his face, he walked with great confidence in all of his endeavors on behalf of the citizens of Washington, D.C. He was a tireless community servant and will be terribly missed.
