Beverly Brigham Bowman AB in drama Vassar, 1952 (SAG AFTRA AEA IATSE) died of a heart failure on August 31, 2018 at Manor Care, Mount Vernon in Virginia. Born in Hartford Connecticut in 1930 to Storrs Talcott Brigham and Lucile Lane. She was predeceased by her cherished husband of 39 years AF Capt. William J. Bowman. Beverly loved the arts, being a union member, her cats and fireworks. She was a member of the Recovery community for 26 years where she was admired for her forthrightness, strength and optimism. A professional actress on the stage and screen, Beverly enjoyed and supported the theatre all her life, "We lost a great lady of the Washington theatre" said a local artistic director. For more than 250 performances Beverly starred as Amanda Wingfield in Tennessee Williams play, The Glass Menagerie. First at the Little Theater of Alexandria in 1983, then at the Source Theater in Washington, DC in an acclaimed production directed by Bart Whiteman. It also featured Steven Dawn, Kathryn Kelly and TJ Edwards. In 1984 the production was sent to London's New End theatre in Hampstead, then continued on a 13 city tour of the former Yugoslavia hosted by Ljubisa Ristic. The same production starring Beverly received a 1988 revival at the Church Street Theatre in Washington DC as a benefit to Aids research.  She is survived by her daughter Brilane Bowman AB in drama Vassar, 1985 her brother Col. Hugh Worthen Brigham of Rio Rico, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service at Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, VA on Monday, November 5 at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
