Joseph H. Carpenter  Lt Col, UMSC (Ret.)   
On Friday, January 22, 2021 of Washington, DC. Born June 19, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late Henry and Elizabeth (nee Edelin) Carpenter, the 3rd of six children.Joe enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943, proudly serving in WWII, was discharged, and served in the Marine Reserve until his retirement in 1987. He worked in civilian capacity as a Data Analyst with Marine Headquarters. Lieutenant Colonel Carpenter is one of the original members of the Montford Point Marine Association and in 2012 received the U.S. Congressional Gold Honor. He was also a member of the Seafarers Yacht Club for sixty years.Survived by his wife of 76 years, Annie B. Carpenter; and his son, Dante Antonio Medina and a host of relatives, friends and former Marine recruits and comrades.Graveside service with full Marine Military Honors will be scheduled at Arlington National Cemetery.Please view and sign the family guest book at: www.PumphreyFuneralHome.com
