Patrick Putzi (Age 89)

Patrick Putzi passed peacefully on July 6, 2023 at the Pompano Beach, Florida home of his daughter, Susan L. Taylor. Mr. Putzi was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and died from complications of that condition.

Patrick was born on May 28, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and went on to earn his LLB from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Law School in 1960 and an LLC in Taxation from the George Washington University Law School in 1972.

Mr. Putzi was employed as a Tax Attorney for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel for 27 years. In 1988, he was commissioned Special Counsel of Natural Resources and was responsible for creating all IRS educational programming, including The Biannual Parker Fielder Oil & Gas Tax Conference.

After law school, Patrick moved to Washington, DC. He met his future bride and love of his life, Betty Louise Daehn on June 6, 1966. They wed on August 4, 1968. They raised their children in Silver Spring, Maryland and retired to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1999.

In their 50 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling the world to destinations such as Russia, China, Germany, Italy and Alaska, often with their family and dear friend, Adriane Berman. Patrick and Betty took immense pride in their family and traveled to attend milestone events of their six beloved granddaughters.

Patrick was preceded in death by Betty. He is survived by his children, Jon Allen Sikora (Gail) of Smyrna, Georgia, Susan Lynn Taylor of Pompano Beach, Florida, and David Patrick Putzi (Maria) of Millersville, Maryland as well as his six granddaughters, Andrea Sikora Newsome (Robert), Sarah Sikora, Samantha Taylor (Adam Drobnis), Stephanie Taylor, Julia Putzi and Mia Putzi. Patrick was honored to become a great-grandfather to Caleb Clarke Newsome on June, 14, 2023.

The family will have a service and burial in Ripon, Wisconsin with the date to be determined. Mr. Putzi will rest eternally next to his wife.
