Bill Creske Obituary

Creske, Bill

Bill Creske, 64, Mosinee, died Saturday, January 7, 2017, at his home.

He was born September 22, 1952, in Wausau, the son of Joyce (Grassl) Creske and the late Edward Creske. He married Charlene Nest on August 11, 1973 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Halder. She survives.

He worked his way up the ranks over 48 years at Wausau Tile. In addition, he was President of Creske Corporation. He enjoyed hunting; tending to his buffalo, elk, longhorns, roosters and pigs; and was an avid Packer fan. Each year, Bill enjoyed taking the kindergarten classes through his farm and showing them his maple syrup process. He was also a devoted grandpa and would drop anything for his grandkids. He was always available to help his friends. Bill was an upfront and honest man who would tell you like it is.

Survivors, besides his wife, Charlene, and his mother, Joyce, include his two sons, Ben (Jen) Creske and Scott Creske, both of Mosinee; two grandchildren, Lauren and Blake Creske, Mosinee; two step-grandsons, Tyler and Justin Lemke, Mosinee; two sisters, Dr. Mary (Dr. Buzz Ryskamp) Creske, Rancho Mirage, California and Cindy (Jim) Schwartz, Hudson, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Reverend Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Visitation will be again from 9am Wednesday until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.bestefh.com.

Because of his love of children, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name can be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

This message is in2020. When I think of Bill , I think of deer-hunting season. His land adjoined ours ,David Dalton's with just a fence between. Our son, David Dalton Jr. was a deer-hunter on our property. He passed on November 28. I recall the eulogy of your friend in 2017,about hunting. I think of Bill and Dave and now there is no fence in between. God Bless them.

Bill and I shared a love for animals, both domestic and wild. Bill graciously invitied me several times to trips to WY to enjoy the mountains, wildlife, and comaradrie of fellow hunters. It was my honor to serve Bill as a veterinarian and say he was my friend.

I was so saddened to hear of Bills passing. I admired Bill so very much and learned early on with Bill that doing business with Him meant a relationship & lifelong friendship. Bill was one of the most sincere and honest men I've known. I cannot recall a conversation with Bill where his family wasn't brought into it, as well as the obvious pride he had for them. It was also obvious he had great respect for his 2nd family, his employees. My heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with Char and his entire family.

Char, Joyce & Family,

We will truly miss Bills smiling face. He was definitely his fathers son. No matter where we ran into him, he always said Hi and asked how we were doing.

He will be a great loss to the community but we are glad he is spending some much needed time with his dad again.

God be with you all in this time of grief!

Char, Joyce and family, Karen and I want to express our deepest sympathy to you in this most painful time.

Not only do we recall the time you and Bill just "stopped in" to visit when attending a wedding service and of course to inspect Tyler's work on our new driveway slab. And then our time at your home where Karen fell in love with Bill's stock. And the lunches at the Tic Toc, my visits with his Dad bragging about him, and I could go on and on.

Our prayers our with you.

A HUNTER'S PRAYER

I pray that I may live to hunt
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last breath
I'll thank the Lord and pray
Lord, thank you for the journey I've had
For my children and my wife
Thank you for the work my hands have done
And for the gift of life
I pray, in His mercy my soul be judged
Worthy enough to keep
Now safe in the Lord's loving arms
I lay peacefully asleep.

So sad to hear of Bill's passing. After just speaking and visiting with him at Jerome Cherek's funeral. Can't believe it!
He pointed up to the two eagles flying over and looking down at the cemetery where Jerome was ... a real special moment!
Always a warm smile and friendly mannerism as depicted in the picture!
Many fond memories growing up and meeting the Mosinee boys in the 1950's , 60's and coming back over the years!

I had attended the Dec. 4th game. On Monday before leaving I wanted to thank Bill for allowing me to bring clients to the game. He had a person in his office, but he saw me, motioned me in to talk, stopped what he was doing. Not a typical owner, he was always so friendly. I told him how I went down to the 50 yard line and watched the 90 yard drive, Jordy Nelson catch from the 50 to ice the game. I showed the video of the catch. Bill then told me a story about he and his dad, then another story that related to my excitement of being at Lambeau. I am very sad for your loss, you are in my family's prayers.

When I was a little girl, my grandma worked at Wausau Tile. It was a magical place to visit as a child, especially Bill's office. One time, Bill made me a deal that if I get all "A"s in my grade school classes, he would give me his tickets for one packer game. I got all "A"s and sealed the deal. I made lots of great memories with my grandfather at that game, which was my first and only packer game. I'll never forget Bill's generosity, or his buffaloes. What magic he brought to my world as a kid. Sending love to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

About 40 years ago the Creske family took me in and accepted me as one of their own. They gave me food and drink, we celebrated life events together. I think of the Chinese proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" The Creske family not only gave me fish but taught me how to fish. Bill taught me how to fish. He gave me more in this life than he ever knew and more than I could ever repay.
May God bless you and your family.
I will truly miss you.
