David Austin Cox

David Austin Cox, 96, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at a local nursing facility. He was born Oct. 18, 1911 in Morgan Mill, Texas to John and Alma Lou Cox.At a year old, David and his family moved to Arkansas in a covered wagon and then returned two years later to Parker County. He was a farmer and retiree from American Manufacturing. David was a Baptist and he loved to dance until he reached 92 years of age.He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mona Mae, second wife, Lillie Yates Cox, son W.W. Cox and a daughter, Katherine Cox.He is survived by daughter, Dorotha Haley of Weatherford, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildrenand, daughter-in-law, Virginia Cox, two sisters, Ruth Grable of Fort Worth, and Polly Pond and husband, Robert of Garner. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at Dilbeck Cemetery in Peaster. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at the funeral home.
