Dorothy Myrtle Periard, late of Weyburn, SK passed away November 26, 2022 at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Myrtle Lund; husband Alphonse Periard (1970); son John (1983); daughter Louise (1971); infant grandson Dean Mann (1980); grandson Jesse Periard (2007); grandson Ryan Bedore (2018); sisters, Lois Bjarnason and Eva Howell; daughters-in-law Myrna Periard and Bev Periard. Dorothy is survived by her children: Dianne (Harold) Vilcu, Elwood (Cheryl) Periard, Lucien (Marlis) Periard, Philip Periard, Leo Periard, Elaine Periard (Ryan Wickenheiser), Elizabeth (Dale) McPherson, Jeanne Periard, Michael (Cindy) Periard, Therese (Larry) Scott and Lawrence Periard; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren numbered over 150; her sister Janet Mazur; brother Ron (Audrey) Lund; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. We say goodbye to our beautiful matriarch knowing that she would not want us to be sad. Dorothy held onto a profound faith in God throughout her life. Her deep prayer life brought her to a close friendship with Jesus and we trust she will be made anew in His company. She often contemplated the beauties of heaven and liked to imagine green pastures and gentle flowing streams. Our family would like to express gratitude to RD Family Funeral Chapel and the staff at Regina General Hospital. Prayers were held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK. A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy was held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with celebrant Fr. Valentine Amobi. Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, SK. Funeral luncheon followed at Lower McKenna Hall, 317 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK. In lieu of flowers, for family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Memorial Fund, 314 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK, S4H 0W7.
