AMHERSTDALE, W.Va. — Ethel Mae Jude McCoy, 86, of Amherstdale, went to be with the Lord Tues., Dec. 31, 2013, from her residence.
Born November 11, 1927, at Inez, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Elba and Rena Smith Jude. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Rudolph "Doc" McCoy; three daughters, Lillian Whitt, Linda Cole and Sheila Egnor; daughter-in-law, Diane Bailey McCoy; son-in-law, Larry Whitt; granddaughters, Lisa Whitt and Kimberly McCoy; grandsons, Donald McCoy II, Danny Vance II, and Geary Dale Nelson; sister, Nancy Copeland, and brothers, Otis, Paul, Carl and David Jude.
Ethel was a devoted mother and grandmother, who helped mother generations of the McCoy family. She was a member of Becco United Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include six children, James (Phyllis) McCoy and Ronald (Therisa) McCoy, with whom she made her home, both of Amherstdale, Donald (Sue) McCoy of Clear Fork, Kathy (Jimmy) Dillon of Stony Point, N.C., Harold (Jean Ann) McCoy of Man, and Kim (Tom) Barr of Downers Grove, Ill.; 36 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., Jan. 4, at Becco United Baptist Church at Amherstdale with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

james and phyllis and the mccoy family..it breaks my heart to hear of sweet ethel's passing but i know she is in a better place now with her Savior and her loved ones..She was a strong and wonderful woman whom i had the pleasure of knowing and being a sister thru Christ with...May GOD Bless you all during this time but take comfort in knowing she will await u in the hearafter...i love and pray for u my friends and GOD BLESS U ALL..
