Thomas H. Burnap

Thomas H. Burnap of Bridgewater died Sept. 28, 2010, after a brief illness in Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital at age 72. Tom was born in Boston, son of the late Jean (Mielke) and Ralph Burnap and was raised and educated in West Bridgewater. He had worked 22 years for Texas Instruments as a tool and die maker and retired in 2000. He had spent the past 20 years in Bridgewater where he moved from Norton. In his younger years Tom coached basketball for the Union Congregational Church in East Bridgewater, was the Scout leader and creator of Troupe 25 in West Bridgewater and a member of the National Guard. He was the husband of Joan (Jordan) Burnap of Bridgewater; father of Edward A. Burnap and his wife Karen of Bridgewater and Wayne T. Burnap and Pamela of West Bridgewater; brother of William A. Burnap of Easton and Cheryl Simpson of Bridgewater; grandfather of Kenneth and his wife Erin, Jennifer, Andrew, Missy, and Rachel; great-grandfather of Kevin, Abigail and Dylan. Funeral home service was held Monday, Oct. 4, in the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.
