I only recently learned of Chrissy's passing. I am so very sorry. She was such a wonderful friend to all of us who passed through the unit and your home. She always expressed such interest and concern about our kids, and we appreciated it greatly.
I hope to be able to make it up to Boston sometime soon. Maybe I can spirit you away for lunch with Mary Anne and me? Have a good Christmas with the family. Best - Alex

time with her. I remember vividly a dinner party that she hosted, probably over forty years ago, in honor of the formidable Mexican intellectual, Ivan Illich, There were guests from several different groups in Cambridge and Chrissy made everyone feel at home. And I learned a lesson that I've never forgotten--it's perfectly OK to use different kinds of silverware, in fact it makes both the table and the conversation livelier.
