Margery Goodwin Brown, 95, of Port Townsend, WA., passed away on February 25th, 2021 at home with her husband of seventytwo years, Frank G. Brown, by her side. Margery was born to William H. and Hattie Horne Goodwin in Marblehead, where she graduated from Marblehead High School's class of 1943. After graduation she earned her RN at Salem Hospital School of Nursing and often spoke of her love of caring for many wonderful patients while being a visiting nurse in Salem. She and Frank married in 1948 and shared adventures driving across the U.S. and Canada. They met when they were fifteen years old and were each other's first dates. While raising her family, Margery developed an interest in art and wherever they moved, she joined local art associations, took classes and eventually sold many of her own pieces of art. She worked in all mediums of painting and did some sculpture. Frank and Margie moved to Port Townsend, WA. in 1990 and Margie became active in the Port Townsend Gallery. No matter where they lived, Marblehead was always home for Margie and Frank, both coming from old Marblehead families. Margie loved recounting stories of growing up in Marblehead and the childhood adventures she had with her cousins and siblings exploring and having fun. She talked of skiing down the hill in the side yard wearing skis made by her Dad, picking blueberries, packing a lunch and spending each day of summer at Grace Oliver's Beach. Margie was known throughout her life as a loving, kind, cheerful person, always smiling and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Frank Brown, her four children, Susan Calhoun (Richard), Nancy Jo Deller (Henry), Edward Brown (Mirian) and David Brown(Annie); grandchildren, Rebekah Calhoun Ulmer (Jeff), Christopher Calhoun, Emma Deller Landis (Melvin), Jacob Brown, Stephen Hooper Brown, Samantha Brown, Grant Brown, Danielle Brown, Edwin Ballote (Alana), Mirian Ballote, Taylor Brown (Janelle) and Brittney Brown McKittrick (Kevin); great grandchildren, Jake, Jolie and Jackson Ulmer, William and Brooke Landis, Nico Wheeler-Brown and Sonny McKittrick. Margie is also survived by three siblings, William H. Goodwin, Janis Gallagher (Daniel) and Linda Balser (Donald) and several nieces and nephews.
