DOUGLAS, Bernice "Ber" (nee Clancy) Born January 29, 1936 in Guelph, ON and passed away on September 21, 2005 at Hotel Dieu Site. Beloved wife of 49 years to Jim Douglas. Loving mother of Jim and wife Patti, Rod and wife Susan of Toronto, Marti and husband Joe Trocchi and Jennifer and husband Dan Walters of North Bay. Predeceased by parents Roderick and Bea Clancy. Ber was a loving Nana to Michael, Kyle, Darby and Sean Douglas, Maria and Anthony Trocchi and Emma Walters. Survived by sisters Joanne and husband Tom Chauvin of Goderich and Marie Clancy of Guelph and predeceased by brother Roderick and sisters Theresa Clancy, Geraldine Simmons, Beverly Monforton and Jaqueline McKegg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ber was an active member for 41 years at Beach Grove Golf & Country Club. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 12:15 p.m. from The Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (735-2830) to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Gary Goyeau will be the celebrant. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Bernice Douglas in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held the Fall of 2006. All are welcome. Dear Jim,



I just heard of Bernice's passing this morning. I am out of town (Edmonton)and Louise is in Mtl. for the weekend. We were therefore unable to attend the funeral, but wanted you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
