I was in Bob’s choir at Lincoln High School and was in Oklahoma in 1975. He always had a smile for anyone willing to chat. I wish I had gotten to see him. He let me sing in his church’s choir, and I was Catholic! He had a great sense of humor and a great voice. I am proud to have known this great man!

I'll always remember how Mr. Cleworth enjoyed rehearsing our boys' contingent (Orpheous Club) of his vocal program at Lincoln High. He seemed to thrill as much in hearing our rendition of "You'll Come a Waltzing Matilda With Me" as we boys enjoyed singing it!

Robert Cleworth was my choir director during my high school years and his leadership in directing the shows assisted me greatly in gaining confidence that assisted me in my successful business career. I took advantage of an opportunity a few years ago to have coffee with him while we were visiting the city and thanked him for his leadership. He will be missed.

Jane, Deb and family of Robert Cleworth: my deepest sympathies go out to you. Bob was such a wonderful man as well you know. He always had a smile on his face and he is going to be missed. I can see him already directing the choir of angels up in heaven--cracking a few jokes there too! He lived a long life and I am sure he created many memories with you which you will hold dear in your hearts. Perhaps those are not stars in the nights sky above but passages for our loved ones to shine their heavenly light down upon those of us who remain on earth. Enjoy the light show!

Barbara, John and Families, We are sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. His legacy is tremendous in this town because of his many years of teaching multiple generations more than music. May God be with you now and always.

So sorry to read this....I'm so glad I was able to have coffee with Mr. Cleworth the last time I was in Wisconsin Rapids. A great singer, teacher, and a man of boundless energy. He touched many lives and for that we are all grateful.

Dear Family! What a great man, teacher and mentor! Mr. C.is now enjoying Gods' sweet embrace in Heaven and singing with the angels. He will be missed by so many. We sang in Latin in the key of G at a Sunday morning mass at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic church in May of 1972. It was breathtaking and awesome to hear the choir resonate in that huge church to say the least. We still love to reminisce about those wonderful days in his choir.Well done good and faithful servant. R.I.P. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I miss Bob's big booming laugh and his corny jokes. It was my pleasure to work with Bob at the Lowell Center. He directed our Silver Belles and Beaus for many years. I admired his love of music and his caring and concern for all his chorus members. All who met him, never forgot him. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends.

Mr. Cleworth,
May you walk with the Angels and enjoy eternity, you deserve it. A true Educator in every sense of the word. You were one of the bright spots during my High School years. Hope to see you again one day!

Mr. Cleworth was the greatest influence on my high school years. Because of him I received a scholarship to the Madison Music clinic the summer of my Junior year where I learned to conduct choirs. That blessing brought me 35 years of choir directing and all the joys that came with that beautiful music

What a Great teacher and Lifelong friend. Bob helped to bring my music to life both in school and with my enjoyment having his voice behind mine in community choir. I was blessed to share his honor flight with him. Rest well my music mentor! You will be missed.
