McCarthy, Jr. YORK Donald G. McCarthy, Jr., 53, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at York Hospital. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, and 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Rd., York. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Louis Petruha OFM Cap as celebrant. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. McCarthy was born January 6, 1959 in Jersey City, N.J., a son of the lateDonald G., Sr., and Barbara J. (McCarthy) McCarthy. He was employed at ACME Distribution Center in Denver, PA. He attended St. Joseph Church and was a 1977 graduate of York Suburban High School. He attended Penn State University. He was a 25 year member of the Teamster's Union and the Veteran's Political Association (Ada's). He was a locally high-rated pool shooter. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews. Donald is survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara Leonard and her husband Paul, Michael J. McCarthy and his wife Rena, Patricia Farscht and her husband John, and Joseph McCarthy and his wife Jhoann of York; and nieces and nephews, Elliott, Kiersten and John Paul Leonard, Justin Kline and Christopher Farscht, Charlotte and Brendan McCarthy.
