Baird Knaub Obituary

Baird D. Knaub, 81, died Saturday morning, March 13, 2004 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. Mr. Knaub is the widower of the late Elizabeth C. Klugh Knaub. Mr. Knaub was born August 20, 1922 in Franklin Twp., York County, the son of the late Harvey R. & Annie C. Lerew Knaub. Mr. Knaub retired as owner of Knaub's Furniture in Dillsburg after over 40 years of ownership. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and former council member. He also was a member and past president of both the Dillsburg Lions Club and Dillsburg Borough Council and served on the board of the former Commonwealth National Bank, Dillsburg. Mr. Knaub served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He is survived by one son, Ronald A. Knaub of Dillsburg; one daughter, Mary A. Lewis of Dillsburg; one granddaughter; three grandsons; and one brother, Glenn E. Knaub of Jerome, Mich. Graveside services and burial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs. Those wishing to go to the cemetery may meet at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to his church, 201 S. Baltimore St., Dillsburg, PA 17019. www.cocklinfuneralhome.com
