Larry Myers Obituary

Larry D. Myers

Stewartstown - Larry Duane Myers, of Hopewell Township, beloved husband of Lynn A. (Parry) Myers.

With the utmost grief, the family of Larry D. Myers has announced his passing within his residence at the age of 66 on April 14th, 2021 after his fight with an improbable diagnosis of a rare disease called Amyloidosis.

Larry was one of five children and is the son of the late William R. Myers and Genevieve (Rexroad) Myers. He was born in the town of Portsmouth, Ohio, but moved to York, Pennsylvania in his adolescent years eventually graduating from York Suburban High School in 1972. As a dedicated husband for 43 years, father of 2, and grandfather of 3, Larry leaves behind a legacy of commitment to family that will survive eternally for the people closest to him. He's survived by his wife, Lynn A. (Parry) Myers, a daughter, Holly E Herbert and son-in-law, Patrick J. Herbert and three grandsons, Austin Albright, Brayden Herbert and Bryce Herbert. He was predeceased by his daughter, Heather L. Myers. He also leaves a loving sister, Sandy Denney and many nieces and nephews.

For 44 years Larry endured the truck driving profession, working for companies as an exemplary employee that went above and beyond the expectations of his employers, which included Stauffer Biscuit, Cloverland Dairy, Preston Trucking, Ettline Foods, and Hillandale Farms. Larry's selfless perspective on life undoubtably flooded the hearts of people that knew him professionally and personally. In his free time, Larry thoroughly enjoyed watching his daughter and grandchildren play sports, going golfing and fishing, and cheering on the Ohio State University football team. This devout giver will be dearly missed for many reasons, but his unconditional love, tenderness, and joy are among the top of the list.

The memorial service will be held at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Ave, York, PA 17403, on Sunday, April 18 at 2:00 pm with a visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Burial at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation, 7151 N. Main St. Ste. 2 Clarkston, MI 48346 or the Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S Main St, Stewartstown, PA 17363.

I met Larry while working at Preston trucking. We were friends for years. My most thought about memory was when we rode our motorcycles to New York for a motorcycle rally. There are many more things we did but that was an adventure I’ll never forget. Larry will always remain in my memory as a good friend. Our prayers are with you and the your family.
