Michael Scott Markel

Michael S. Markel 61, of York, PA. entered into eternal rest, on Monday November 17th, 2025.
"Markel" as he was commonly called, was born in York, PA on August 17th, 1964. He was the son of the late John S. Markel, Sr. and Evelyn D. (Brown) Markel.
Mike attended York Suburban High School. He spent most of his career as a roofer and window installer. He loved working on bikes and cars in his spare time. He was also a great artist which his daughter Nicole and granddaughter Kamrin inherited. Mike was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother John Markel, Jr. and his son Beau Miller.
He is survived by girlfriend Christine Thompson Garber, his daughters Nicole Royer (husband Matthew Royer), and Tori Miller. He is also survived by his grandchildren (who knew him as pappy), Kamrin and Landon Royer, Madilyn Forry, Triston Adamson, and Kali Adamson. His sister Yvonne Markel Combs (husband Andrew) and nephews Bradley Combs and Eric Thompson.
Mike had two passions in life, The Dallas Cowboys and riding his Harley Davidson. He did many charitable rides including Toys for Tots and Not One More, as well as many others.
Mike was a lovable guy and gave the best hugs. He will sadly be missed by family, friends and friends that were family. To know Mike was to love him.
Services are on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt Rose Ave, York. The viewing will be held from 11:00-1:00 with the service to follow at 1:00pm.
