Louise Eleanor Hock

NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Louise Eleanor Hock, age 99, of Newark will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, with Rev. Ronald W. Hock and Rev. James D. Hock officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hock passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Price Road Health and Rehab Center. She was born October 20, 1915 in Zanesville to the late Clarence L. and Clara (Miller) Vogel.

Louise worked at the Washington County Children's Home, Holiday Inn and Blacks Collection Agency, all located in Zanesville before moving to Newark in 1993. She was a member of the Madison Grange, The Granville Luncheon Group and a 20 year member of Eastland Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Ronald W. and Betty Hock of Newark and Rev. James David and Karen Hock of Canal Winchester; five grandchildren, Teresa Bussey of Newark, Vicki (Michael) Howe of Newark, David (Lisa) Hock of NC, Stephanie Ware of VA and Jeff (Erin) Hock of Cincinnati; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Wendell, in 1977; a brother killed in World War II, Richard (Rosalie) Vogel and a sister, Ann (Albert) Lutz.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at The Newark Chapel of HENDERSON-VAN ATTA-STICKLE Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.

My condolences to Ron, Betty and the congregation at Eastland Heights Baptist Church on the death of Ron's mom.. My mother spoke of Louise often and will miss her so much.

Pastor Ron and Betty and Family.. So sorry to hear about your Mother.. We all know she was a wonderful and caring person.. She loved her children and Grandchildren. She was very Faithful with the Lord and her Family.. I know your Heart is hurting right now but your Faith will get you through these hard times.
