Glenda White Obituary

Glenda (Roberts) White (age 75) left her cancer-ravaged body behind and walked into the arms of Jesus on July 18, 2025, at the Brandley Hospice House, Summerfield, Florida. Glenda was born in Sandusky, Michigan, on January 16, 1950, and grew up in rural Sanilac County. She graduated from Deckerville High School in 1968. Subsequently she worked at Barry Hancock Realty, Prestolite, Steelcase, and the City of Naples. In every position, Glenda excelled as an Executive Assistant, never aspiring to be in the spotlight. She always preferred to serve, always seeing a need, filling it, and then giving credit to others. In every aspect of her life, Glenda had a "servant heart". Her active card ministry was just one of the ways she cared for others, never missing an opportunity to send birthday, anniversary, get well, or sympathy wishes, or just notes of encouragement. She was a member and faithful greeter at Fairway Christian, as well as serving in the hospitality ministry. Glenda married Patrick White on May 16, 1981. Over the years of their marriage, they resided in Port Huron, Michigan; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Naples, Florida; and Summerfield, Florida (Stonecrest). Glenda is survived by her husband, Patrick White; stepdaughters: Shannon White, and Colleen (Vern) Pearl; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Lucien, and Serena; siblings: Karen (Marvin) Hollenbeck, Bruce (Barbara) Roberts, and Roseann (Ronald) Kopacz, as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ada Roberts, siblings: Donald Roberts, Allan Roberts, Hazen Roberts, Richard Roberts, Erma Lawson, and Marilyn Eckenswiller. A memorial service will be held at Fairway Christian Church, 8400 E. County Road 466, The Villages, Florida, on Monday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. An internment with a small grave-side service will be held in Michigan in October. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Fairway Christian Church.
