Robert Gore Obituary

Robert Louis Gore, affectionately known as "Captain Bob," passed away on February 28, 2025, in Ocala, Florida, at 84. Born on June 25, 1940, in Brooklyn, Ohio, Robert developed a passion for aviation when he began flying at the age of 14, which would define his life and career. He dedicated 34 years to United Airlines as a pilot and was a respected captain of the Boeing 777 aircraft. Known for his unwavering commitment to safety and professionalism, he took great pride in sharing his love of all things mechanical and his airmanship expertise. Beyond the cockpit, Robert had a deep appreciation for music and loved to play the piano. He also found joy in golfing, boating, and target shooting. He had a lifelong enthusiasm for cars, specifically his treasured Corvette. His infectious laugh, warm grin, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherry; his brother, Philip Gore Jr.; and his parents, Philip and Caroline. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Stefanek; his daughter, Heidi Davies, and her husband Wayne; grandsons Tyler Gore and T.J. Storino with his wife Kadie; and great-grandson Ziggy Storino along with many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered fondly by family and friends who cherished his larger-than-life stories and gregarious presence. As he embarks on this final journey, we wish him Blue Skies and Tailwinds always. Per his wishes, he will be laid to rest with Sherry in a private ceremony in a place they both cherished.
