Thomas Glines

Thomas B. Glines passed away in The Villages, Florida with his wife Mary by his side on April 1, 2025. Tom was born in Spokane, Washington. He spent some of his childhood in Canada where his father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force then lived in Spokane and the Tri Cities in Washington State. Tom proudly served in the United States Army and was assigned to MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War. Tom later graduated from Eastern Washington University. Most of his career Tom spent working at a job he loved as a salesman at United Pipe in Redmond Washington. The company sent Tom and Mary on many enjoyable trips including Hawaii, Mexico and several cruises. After retiring in 2013, Tom moved with Mary from Washington State to Panama City Beach, Florida where Tom loved going to the beach and hanging out with his many new friends. While there Tom enjoyed fishing, golf, pinochle, weekly Mexican Train, parties at the clubhouse and daily water aerobics. Then Tom spent the past 4 years "Living the Dream" in The Villages. Tom loved driving the golf cart on the golf course with Mary and friends playing golf. Tom spent many an afternoon listening to music and socializing with his friends at Redsauce. But Tom's favorite pastime was going to Sumter Landing in the golf cart to listen to nightly music. Tom is survived by his wife Mary Smith, brother James Glines, daughters Renee (Karleton) Pfaff and Sherrie (Drew) Knapik, Stepson Daniel Smith, Stepdaughter Sabrena (Jordan) Awe and grandchildren Jaxon Knapik, Daniel Smith and Madison Awe. Tom was preceded in death by his brother Lamonte Glines. A ceremony will be planned to spread Tom's ashes in the gulf in Panama City Beach.
