Richard Parham Obituary

Richard Earl Parham, 80, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. A native of Buncombe Co., Richard was a son of the late Uit and Bertha Payne Parham. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Coffey, and sister-in-law, Ivanell Parham. Earl loved to make music and especially loved playing his fiddle. He was passionate about his work, as well, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. He loved tinkering in the shop and restoring old tractors. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church. Mr. Parham is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pamela Moore Parham; son, Steven Parham (Debbie); granddaughter, Kaleigh Parham; brother, Herman Parham; niece and nephew, Jennifer Duncan (Bill) and Brian Parham, and other nieces and cousins. The graveside service for Mr. Parham will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Leicester. The Rev. Gary Fender will officiate. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 15 Harbeck Dr., Weaverville, NC 28787. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
