Ann Brooks Bull

Ann Brooks Bull, 90, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025. Born in South Orange, New Jersey, on June 18, 1935, Ann was the daughter of Augusta and Leverich Brooks. She graduated from Smith College in 1957 and, the following year, married John Carraway Bull Jr. Together they raised their four children, moving across the country several times before settling in Arizona in 1970. Ann and John built a life that was rich with love, generosity, and hospitality. They created lasting bonds by celebrating special events and planning trips that brought together multiple generations. Her quick wit and easy laugh made Ann a joy to be around. Her gift for listening made everyone feel heard and valued. Entertaining stories about her life and family gave her descendants a vision of their history. She was a model of grace and strength-always present, and always supportive when they needed her most. She maintained friendships from early childhood on and shared a close bond with her brother Schuyler and extended family. Ann was deeply involved in the community. She volunteered with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, supported families through Hospice of the Valley and as a hospital volunteer. Passionate about education and opportunity, she tutored through literacy programs for children and adults in Baltimore and Phoenix. Ann gave generously of her time through church ministries at Christ Church Anglican. She is survived by her children: Ginny Warren (Steve), Kristin Brignall, Natalie Soll (Darin), and Jack Bull (Mimi), 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Bull Jr., and her brother, Schuyler Brooks. A service celebrating Ann's life will be held at 3 p.m., September 27, 2025, at Christ Church Anglican, 5811 N. 20th St., Phoenix, Arizona, 85016.
