Earl Maynard Hardy

Earl M. Hardy, age 87 passed away on August 16, 2025. He was born September 27, 1937 in Britton South Dakota to parents Jens and Bernice Hardy. He moved to Minnesota at a very early age. He grew up on a livestock and grain farm in West Central Minnesota. He attended school in Granite Falls and Scared Heart, Minnesota. His love of horses started in high school. He was active in 4-H and FFA. As an US Army veteran, he graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1963 and was employed in the accounting field as a CPA for the Minnesota Vikings. Earl moved from Minnesota to Arizona in 1969 at the request of his young daughter's doctor. In 1970 he purchased a home near Shea and Scottdale Road where he kept his horses. Earl was a partner in the CPA firm Mitchell and Hardy for 20 years. Earl and his wife Georgie owned and operated a 10-acre horse place south of Cave Creek for several years, breeding and raising horses. They also owned and operated a cattle ranch, named Santo Nino, southeast of Patagonia, Arizona for 17 years. He purchased a home in Wickenburg in 2012, where he lived until August 2021 when he moved to Mesa to live with his daughter. He is survived by daughters, Debra Czudak, Patti (Ray) Atchley, son Carl (Roxanne) Markoff, son-in-law David Tumbarello, grandchildren, Brianna (Ashley) Czudak, Danielle Sherwoon, Sean (Jessica) Atchley, Rayan (Demi) Krause and great grandchildren, Bradley Sherwoon, Barrett and Trigger Krause. Mr. Hardy was a member of the masonic lodge in Nogales, Az. And Minneapolis, Mn, and the Scottsdale Mounted Posse. He rose on the Desert Caballero trail ride out of Wickenburg for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Georgie and daughter Julie. Services will be held at Messinger Indian School Mortuary and Chapel on September 6, 2025 at 11am.
