Jason Sue Obituary

Jason Ryan Sue, the devoted father of Leah and Canaan, son of Lucia and Randolph, beloved brother of Samantha, and longtime partner of Danielle, passed away suddenly on July 25, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. Jason was born in Gainesville, Florida, and his family moved to Peoria, Arizona in 1985 when he was less than a year old. He attended Peoria Elementary and Peoria High School. Jason will always remain vivid in our memories for his loving dedication to not only Leah, Canaan, Danielle, Lucia and Randolph but also to his entire extended Sue and Awong families, who together were his joy, sustenance and anchor. His presence brought light and inspiration to everyone he knew, and memories that will continue to uplift all of those that he regretfully leaves behind. Jason had a successful career as a commercial airline pilot, rising to the position of Captain at an unusually young age. He loved flying and the flying community and they in turn loved him for his kindness, intelligence and quick humor. Jason and Danielle welcomed their first child, Leah, in 2011. Leah quickly became his rock and heart. His little "Pet" was equally centered around him and will forever be a "daddy's girl". In 2021, they welcomed their son Canaan. Jason soon developed a deep bond with Canaan, who became his little sidekick. Most memorable was their habit of taking afternoon naps together, with Canaan lying on top of Jason's chest. Danielle always supported Jason with seemingly endless patience and understanding through his trying last few years, for which we will all be eternally grateful. Due to his open and generous nature, Jason had many friends, but the family especially thanks Jeremi and Anthony for their loyalty and repeated efforts to stay connected and supportive. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Randolph; and is survived by his loving mother, Lucia; sister, Samantha; his children's mother, Danielle; and his children, Leah and Canaan. In lieu of flowers, guests at the service may donate to a fund for Jason's children.
