Jeffrey Gray Obituary

Jeffrey Gray, 62, passed away in Phoenix, AZ in March of 2025. Originally from Louisiana, Jeffrey was the son of Dixie Martin and Jim Gray. After graduating from Sterlington High School, he went on to study at NLU in Monroe, Louisiana. Later, Jeffrey began his career at Lowes, where he dedicated 23 years working in multiple store locations around the valley. Jeffrey is remembered by those who knew him as a skilled woodworker and gardener, often creating many of his family members' furniture pieces and helping with projects. He was also an avid traveler- having visited all 50 states, Mexico, and most of Canada. Some of his other interests included hockey, collecting autographs, but there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his grandchildren. Jeffrey brought a sense of humor to every situation and was known for his unwavering generosity. He is pre-deceased by his father Jim Gray and his wife Pam; his grandparents C.F and Pauline Gray; Claude and Helen Eubanks; brother-in-law Kevin Cupit and his grandson Caden Reed. Jeffrey's memory will live on through those who loved him- Including his wife, Libby; their daughters, Nicole Reed (Dustin) and Brooke Drake (Dane); his grandchildren, Haylee, Taylor, Cody, Peyton, Arya, and Hannah; and his mother, Dixie Martin (Harold). He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Teresa Brown (John), Kellye Cupit, Suzonne Hopkins (Erich), and Amanda Taylor (Rob), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life at Hansen Mortuary Chapel in Phoenix, AZ on Friday, April 25th from 5-7pm. There will be a second Celebration of Life in NE Louisiana on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Time and location are to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that book donations be made in Jeffrey's name to your local public library.

Wow !! I just picked up a photography book and looking through these amazing shots !! I´m into furniture and as I opened this book from 1997 this image captured me. I decided to look him up , thinking there is no way this dude is still alive.... Well, I am sad that he is not, but he lived a great life just up until last month ... This picture is amazing and tells the story Jeffrey, I´m sure, wanted to tell !! You can see from this hands to his eyes there was a story there ... I will never know him but thank you ... I´m sure you touched many and your artistry will live on.

For ten years Jeffrey was a great friend, co-worker, and "brother". Every day we would greet each other, shake hands, and give a "happy birthday" salutation. Our conversations revolved around music and grandkids and, although I never had the pleasure of meeting Libby and the girls, through Jeffrey´s uniquely descriptive dialogue, I felt like I knew them well. After I retired from Lowe´s in 2020 I would try to make occasional trips to the store to visit Jeffrey and wish him a happy birthday. His Louisiana charm and wit will be sorely missed as will his stories and positive outlook. Rest in peace my friend and until we meet again, "happy birthday."
