Kirk Margosian Obituary

Kirk David Margosian passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, surrounded by his devoted wife and family after a lengthy battle with illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in November 1951 to Robert and Theresa Margosian, he spent his formative years in Farmington, Connecticut. He moved to Phoenix, AZ where he was employed by Garrett Turbine. After meeting Catherine, the love of his life, they relocated to Somersworth, New Hampshire, where he continued his career as a Journeyman Machinist at ABB. Driven by the desire for personal growth, he attended night school, eventually earning his BS degree in Counseling. In 2000, seeking new opportunities, Kirk and his wife moved to Surprise, Arizona, where he joined Maricopa County Adult Probation. There, he completed both a master's degree and PhD coursework (Education-ABD). Kirk's compassion and ability to listen made him a remarkable counselor and mentor to both clients and colleagues. Beyond his professional achievements, Kirk was truly a renaissance man. He had a deep appreciation for music, was a skilled drummer, and an accomplished photographer-his keen eye capturing the beauty of nature and those he cherished. One of his proudest moments was when a portrait of his kitten, Mitten, won an award and was featured on a Purina Cat Chow carton. Kirk was also a talented writer, publishing numerous articles about his motorcycle travels through the Southwest. A passionate baseball fan, he followed the Red Sox and Dodgers with enthusiasm. Kirk took great pride in his Armenian roots and culture. He was known for his sense of humor, curiosity, and love of the outdoors. Being in nature gave him the freedom to explore and discover new experiences. Kirk valued time with friends and family, especially with his beloved wife, Catherine. His steadfast faith was a source of strength throughout his most challenging days. Kirk is survived by Catherine, his wife of forty years, his son Gabriel, and his sister Robin C (Michael). He was cherished as a brother-in-law by Daniel (Martha), John (Lonnie), Suzanne (Stan), and JoAnn (Gerardo), and was beloved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A true family man, Kirk leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering faith, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
