Paula Johnson Obituary

Paula Jean Johnson, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 60. Born February 19, 1965, in Woodstock, Illinois, she was the daughter of Dennis and Joyce Skalicky. At the age of four, her family moved to the Phoenix area, where Paula grew up and attended Cortez High School. She went on to build a career of service, notably working for the Phoenix Public Library system from 2014 to 2020. On April 10, 2000, Paula married her devoted husband, Shawn Johnson. Together they built a life centered on love, experiences and family. Paula was a proud mother to her son, Kyle, and daughter, Kyra, daughter-in-law, Deanna, and cherished her role as grandmother to Sebastian. Paula is also survived by her sister, Cheryl, her brother, Robert, and their children. Creative and kindhearted, Paula was known for her love of crafting, from scrapbooking and artist trading cards to genealogy projects. Her handmade gifts, always personalized and thoughtful, touched the lives of many. She adored her four cats-Aladdin, Rajah, Jeanie, and Jasmine-and for over a decade she extended her care to neighborhood cats and strays as well. Those who knew Paula will remember her for her generosity, warm spirit, and the joy she brought to every gathering of family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Per her wishes, there will be no formal ceremony. Instead, her family will host a celebration of life in her honor at a later date.
