Richard Cass, Jr. Obituary

Richard "Ray" Cass, Jr. Age 86 of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025. He was born on June 30, 1939 in Endicott, NY. The son of the late Richard Cass, Sr. and Marjorie Taylor Cass. Ray graduated from Horseheads High School in 1958 and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of the American Legion Post 442 and attended the Community Wesleyan Church both in Horseheads, NY. Ray was a long time resident of Horseheads and spent much of his career as a driver delivering fuel oil. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Sherry Cass, son Robert Cass, daughter-in-law Shawna Cass and granddaughter Brittany Cass. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years of marriage Deloris Therit Cass, loving daughter Karen Knapp, grandsons Mark and Matthew Russell all of Arizona; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Arnie Carbaugh, nephew Alex Gee, all of New York, niece Meghan Hnatko of Florida, and five beautiful great grandchildren he adored all of Arizona. Ray loved his family's three dogs and one cat, especially Foxy. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, enjoyed fishing, country music and playing cards.
