Robert Pearson Obituary
Robert Kent "Bob" Pearson, 77, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away on September 19, 2025.
Bob was born on March 9, 1948, in Phoenix, Arizona, to parents William Graham Pearson and Mary Jane (McDonald) Pearson. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in accounting and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. His professional career involved roles in the commercial real estate departments of Valley National Bank and First Interstate Bank before transitioning into business through Farmers Insurance Group. Though accomplished in his career, Bob never believed work should be the focus of his life-he believed that serving the Lord and loving your family were the only things that truly endure.
Bob served Jesus in his daily life and went on mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and to the state of Washington. Over the years, he served faithfully as a neighborhood group coach at both Palm Valley Church in Goodyear, and at his current church, Christ Church of the Valley's Peoria Campus. Bob was passionate about feeding the hungry, and contributed to many organizations that shared his passion.
At the heart of Bob's life was his deep faith and unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, (Sharon) Beth Pearson; sons Matthew (Kortney), Joshua (Brooke), and Jeremy; daughter Amy Matthew (Nikko); and grandchildren Riley Jae Pearson, Brice Pearson, Ragnar Pearson, Braxton Utter, Ruby Preston, Brody Preston, Everly Jean Pearson, Kaiden Matthew, and Ezra Matthew. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary (Vivian), Ken (Karolyn), sister Lorri O'Malley (Tim), sister-in-law Julie Pearson, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother William "Bill" Pearson; son Sgt. Brice A. Pearson; and daughter Elizabeth Grace Pearson.
Bob once said that life was a precious gift from God and to return it unopened felt like a sin and he lived his life accordingly. He loved camping, fishing, hiking and traveling to new places with those he loved most. He was an avid reader and a passionate supporter of the ASU Sun Devils.
Those who knew Bob will remember him as a man of great presence-a big hearted man with a generous spirit and a quick sense of humor that could light up any room. He loved Jesus first and his family fiercely. His legacy is one of love, faithfulness and humor. It was the blessing of our lives to be loved by him.
A Memorial Service honoring Bob and celebrating his life will be held on October 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E Bell Rd in Scottsdale. Public visitation will begin prior to the service at 09:00AM. A reception will follow the service.
