Arthur Morganti Obituary

Arthur Laurie Morganti Sr.

Arthur Laurie Morganti Sr. passed away peacefully in the early hours of Dec. 10, 2022, just 18 days before his 94th birthday.

Art was born in Rochester, NY, where he lived until he joined the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant, having served in both Korea and Vietnam and receiving the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious service. After his retirement, Art had several other occupations, including as a diesel mechanics instructor at TVI (now CNM).

He was a wonderful family man. His daughter especially remembers him always coming to her rescue for a car wreck, running out of gas, a broken gadget, and any number of other things. Art was always resourceful and never saw a good piece of wire, string, wood, metal, etc. that he would pass up, in case he could put it to use somewhere. On an extended vacation with his young family, Art noticed an old discarded antique desk sitting on a curb in New York. He strapped it to the top of the station wagon and hauled it around the country for weeks, eventually bringing it back to NM where he repaired and refinished it. He built and fixed many things throughout his long life.

He is preceded in death by his beloved Bettie Joyce, wife of 58 years, and his five siblings: Grace

"Queen," Annette

"Turkey," Rose "Stinky," Anthony "ToTo," and Frank "Bar of Soap." Surviving him are his four children: Neena Ferreira and husband Patricio, Arthur Jr. and wife Chris, Blake and wife Tracy, and Daniel. Additional survivors are: former daughter-in-law, Lauradean Morganti, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his youngest son, Daniel, for being his caregiver during his

final years. Art Sr. will be missed dearly.
