Charles Wayne Jones



Charles "Wayne" Jones, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday 2/27/22. Wayne was born 11/1/1947 and raised in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Sandia High School in 1965. He went to work for Western Electric/ Mountain Bell and retired from AT&T after 25 years of service. He was active and had lots of interest: motorcycles, softball,skiing, racquetball, painting, cooking and investing to name a few. He enjoyed watching the balloons and sunsets. Loved to joke and make others laugh.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, George "Al" Schweitzer and Lophelia Schweitzer.

He is survived by his Sister, Paulette Bailey,

Daughter, Julie Wagner, Son, Damon Jones and his wife Erica Jones, Granddaughters, Gates Samaniego and her wife, Lanora Samaniego, Megan Jones and by cherished Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Wayne was married twice and is survived by Judy Hiner and Patricia Jones whom he loved dearly.

We will have a private family service at a later date to lay him to rest with his Mom, Grandmother and other family at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be made to American Diabetes Association or Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.

Wayne was a good friend. We had a lot of laughs, he had a great sense of humor. I'll miss him.
