Daniel Flores helped shape me into the man I am today. He was my instructor for 2 years but a mentor nonetheless. Glad I was able to be there when I was, most honorable man I knew.

Gunny helped me set up a memorial scholarship for a friend's son. Gunny was always professional and helpful, and found ways to stretch the value of the scholarship so more kids could benefit. The world has lost a special person who lit up the dark for many.

I thank you for all of the times that you gave me a smile and a few good words. You often made my day! I am grateful that we got to work together and I appreciate all you did to inspire your students. I have always respected your kindness, honesty and integrity, and I know that you helped to build those traits in others by showing them in yourself. I missed you leaving Cibola, and I will miss you more now- thanks for being a good person on earth, I know you will even be better in heaven! Dear family: I'm sorry to not have known you, but I am praying that you are doing the best you can to be okay. I am so sorry for your loss, I know you miss him greatly. Much love.

It was a tremendous pleasure to be able to work with Gunner in Cibola High School's ROTC program. I will have fond memories of trips to Washington, D.C., hilarious comedic relief at Department Chair meetings and of course, I'll miss my fellow coin collecting enthusiast. Gunner brought a smile everywhere he went and touched so many lives. I'll not forget you, my friend.
