George Buffett Obituary
George D. Buffett II (G2), of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed from this life on Monday, November 7, 2022. G2 was born Wednesday, October 21, 1964 in Albuquerque, NM, to George and Jeanette Buffett. After fighting Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of bone marrow cancer, a bone marrow transplant, and developing complications he lost his battle at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Rhonda Buffett; children Rachael Buffett and George Buffett III; mother Jeanette Buffett; mother-in-law Jane Bridge; brother John Buffett and wife Donna; sister Patty Buffett; sister-in-law Sandra Noles and husband Tom; brother-in-law Leonard Bridge Jr. and wife Theresa; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends including friends and mentors Jim and Debbie Poland. He is preceded in death by his father George Buffett. G2 graduated from the Albuquerque Academy in 1982 and from New Mexico State University in 1986. G2 was proud to have grown up in and have a career with the family businesses that his Dad started including Buffett's Candies, B & H Wholesale, and The Popcorn Cannery. G2 was also very involved in the many concessions his Dad and Jim ran including The Albuquerque Duke's Stadium, Rio Grande Zoo, Civic Auditorium, Speedway Park, Rodeo de Santa Fe, and the New Mexico Arts and Craft Fair. G2 was a passionate, understanding, and fun-loving individual who loved Dodger Baseball, Jimmy Buffett music, his church-Unity Spiritual Center of Albuquerque, and his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 18th, 2022 at 11 am at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Unity Spiritual Center of Albuquerque or The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society. In memory of G2 please consider registering to be a bone marrow donor and donate blood.

Heartfelt condolences to the Buffett family. I no longer live in Albuquerque and read of George´s passing in an Albuquerque Academy newsletter. I worked at the candy store in college and the Popcorn Cannery one summer. I have many fond memories of the family. May you find God´s peace during this difficult time.
