Glenn Davis Obituary
Glenn B. Davis, Jr.
In the early morning of July 5th, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, our beloved friend, husband, father and grandfather, Glenn B. Davis, Jr., slipped away peacefully at home to begin his life with his Christian family. He was born January 29, 1933 in El Paso, Texas, to Glenn Buckingham Davis and Virginia Bess Bristow.
Affectionately known as "Mickey" he was later living in Albuquerque and graduated from Highland High School in 1950, having been class Vice-President and lettering in Wrestling and Science. Glenn enlisted and served his Country in the Army during the Korean War as a corporal in the 64th AAA Battalion stationed in Japan. Following the war, Glenn began what would be a lifelong career with IBM, working in California, Hawaii and New Mexico over a period of more than 35 years. He retired twice, but was enticed to come back and work his magic some more each time. In 1979 he survived a life-threatening hiking accident in the local California mountains.
An avid golfer, Glenn never passed up an opportunity to play, caddy or marshal, whatever would get him out on the links. He took up the hobby of club-making and made complete sets or individual clubs for himself, family and friends. A real 'techie' of his day, Glenn would be the first on the block to have the latest gadget, whether it was a VCR, microwave oven or personal computer, often before most people even knew those things existed.
He was considered a perfectionist and a constant reader. He was the neighbor you called when your refrigerator was on the fritz or a window was stuck. He could probably fix just about anything.
After retiring for the third and last time, and the death of his first wife, Bernie, Glenn married his high school sweetheart Ann O'Connell in Las Vegas in 2010. The couple were very active in the local church and school community, dedicating their time and resources to assisting and supporting the staff of those organizations.
He was passionate about his love of family and is survived by his wife Ann O'Connell, sister Virginia Kennedy Higgins, son Kevin (Elaine) Davis, daughter Robyn (Gary) Tonnesen, daughter Bonnie Davis, stepson Gray (Delinda) Crampton, stepson Jeff (Barbara) Crampton, granddaughers Erica (Mike) McDonnell and Holly (Christian) Taylor, grandsons Kevin (Jaime) Tonnesen, Drew Ishii, Dack (Amanda) Ishii, Dusty Ishii, and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Gerald 'Jerry' Davis and first wife, Bernadine 'Bernie' Sitzman Davis.
