James Keys Obituary
Master Sergeant James O. Keys "Papa", born July 11, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Keys; son, Christopher; daughter, Anna Marie; brother, Bill Keys; father, Elmer Keys; and mother, Sylvia Sharp. James is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Keys-Holden, Stephanie Keys-Elam and husband, Robert Elam, Christina Trujillo and husband, Ray Trujillo; one grandchild, Mariah Quiroz-Valdez; one great-grandchild, Alize Valdez.
James served 22 years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved going to church. One of his many hobbies was to collect old coins. James was known for his phrases such as, "Everybody makes mistakes" and "You do a great job". He loved his family - they never did without.
Mr. Keys' Life Celebration will begin with visitation on Thursday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 10110 Constitution Ave NE. with the service following at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Elam, Gary Shepard, Scott Schuldt, Ken Terry, Steve Delgado, and Ray Trujillo. In lieu In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Keys family to preserve MSgt Keys' Estate.Please visit James' online guestbook at
