To Martha, Johnny, and the entire family left behind of JOE.
I will carry his sharp wit, humor, and character, the rest of my life as I have for the past 44 years when i worked for him at my age then of 17. I will never forget the time Joe and I were installing wrap around steps, Joe was under the stars stapling the carpet as I knee kicked the carpet on top. I went to go to the next step and couldn't move because Joe had stapled my pants leg to the step saying I was taking to long. One time I couldn't find my tools that I know where I had left them, after searching room to room in a panic state, and passing Joe 3 or 5 times, he finally points to a closet where he had gathered them up to teach me to never leave tools over night as I had, and then to say they were his because I had marked each one "J H" ( my initials also) Will always remember driving down a street one early night seeing two pillar shapes of men walking fast side by side, thinking those are guys I wouldn't ever mess with, as I looked back in my rear view mirror at them, I realized it was Joe and Gene his brother ( whom I also had the honor of teaching me this trade of men crawling around on their knees ). I wanted to be a chiropractor back then, when I confronted Joe about that he quickly without hesitation said " No you won't" you'll be a carpet installer your whole life, I'm now 61 and still installing, AS ALWAYS Joe you were right. " SOUNDS LIKE A PERSONAL PROBLEM " I have used every since the age of 17 ( wonder where I got that from ?)

Its a strange thing how you meet thousands of people in your lifetime, some you forget , some you slightly recollect, then there are people like Joe who ( for what ever reason) etch a part of your heart and soul forever.

rest in piece my dear friend
