L. Justice Obituary

L. Joe Justice





Lester "Joe" Justice passed away on April 30, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM at age 77. A native of Cleburne, TX, Joe was a 1968 graduate of Baylor University and, later, the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He worked for over 50 years in banking and financial services, practicing in El Paso, Dallas and Albuquerque and working with business owners in the manufacturing, retailing, wholesaling, transportation and real estate industries. He retired from The Loan Fund in 2022.

Joe is survived by his children Leigh Ann Hart and Matthew Justice, their spouses, Christopher and Kirsti, and five grandchildren, Meg, Elly, Olive, Bailey and Henry. Joe leaves behind many friends and scores of former clients who celebrate his steadfast friendship.

I knew Joe through our economic development work with New Mexico startup businesses. He had a calm, kind presence. I remember him as a very caring person. My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

I will always remember Joe Justice fondly. He believed in me when I was just starting out. His down to earth demeanor and gentle words always had a way of making me smile. His stories were the best! I will miss him.
