Mark Geiger Obituary

Mark and Bernice Geiger

With profound sadness we announce the untimely passing of Mark and Bernice Geiger on September 3,

2023.

They were the beloved mother and stepfather to Brittney and

Vincent, proud Gigi and Papa to grandsons Bohde and Xander, and were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first granddaughter who is due in December.

Mark and Bernice were dedicated parents and grandparents first and foremost. Their love for their family was evident to all who knew them. Always quick to give an update on their children or show a picture of their grandchildren, their pride in their family was unmistakable.

Bernice, whose bubbly personality and infectious smile could light up a room, worked as a Public Information Officer for the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department for the last 15 years. Her favorite role was that of Gigi to her grandchildren. Known for her "Gigi Pasta" and trips to the arcade, Gigi always greeted her

grandchildren with screams of excitement that made them all laugh endlessly.

Mark, an attorney who represented the New Mexico Activities Association for over 25 years, was known for his generosity and fighter mentality as he battled cancer for the last 10 years. Proud to be know by his grandchildren as "Papa Poop" thanks to the boyish gifts he would send them, Papa Poop could always be counted on for a trip to Keva Juice or an

early morning donut run.

Mark and Bernice made an impact on so many and will be greatly missed. They will be remembered for their never-ending energy, kindness, willingness to serve their community, and love of their family.

A mass for Mark and Bernice will take place on

October 21, 2023 at 9:30am at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande. Following the service, all are invited to Hollow Spirits for refreshments and fellowship.

Mark was a college chum at ASU. We were both from New Mexico and had a connection with a group of people for the best few years. I'm sad for this news but know he lived a well loved and happy life.

So sorry to learn of Mark´s passing. We hung out quite a bit during our high school years. I´ll always remember his love for cars and easy-going spirit.
My condolences to his family and those he left behind.

I just found out about this tragic event yesterday. I wanted to express my condolences to the family. I was a very good friend of Mark's through Junior High and High School. After that, I lost track of him mostly as we went our different ways in life. I did run into him a few times after that, but the last time was over 30 years ago. Mark was so talented, athletic, and funny. We both had a love for muscle cars. Whenever I see a blue 1969 Chevy Malibu SS 396, I always think of him. I know he will be missed. Again, my condolences.

Mark was my hero. He was an amazing person, a gentleman and his love for Bernice was so profound. I loved them both so much and missed seeing them after `high school´. My condolences to the families.
