Like me, Dr. Thompson was an avid SCUBA diver, and also like me, he loved adventure, especially diving in Asia. Yet, though we chatted about our diving adventures, I felt entirely confident with his serious medical knowledge. He will be sorely missed, and I only wish I had known earlier in order to offer any help and support he and his family might have needed.

I just learned of his passing as I was about to call the clinic for the annual dermatology check-up... It´s a very sad news and I will miss his spirit and unique approach to doctoring...
Dr. T was the coolest, down to earth, knowledgeable, most caring doctor I´ve come across. He is the rare physician who cared about your skin maladies but also took interest in the fun in life; I enjoyed trading stories about our travels and dives in distant lands and oceans.
Rest in peace Dr T!

I am very saddened to learn Dr Thompson has passed away. He´s been my dermatologist since 2005 and I am here today because of the great care I received from Matt. He was not only my favorite doctor he was a great guy. I hate going to doctors but always enjoyed going to see him as there were many laughs every appointment.
My condolences to his family, his friends and colleagues....the world was a better place with him in it.

Dr. Thompson aka "Doc" was my dermatologist; but, more than that he was my friend. We shared many discussions about our military experiences during my checkups. We also enjoyed a "stogie" on occasion. I will miss his infectious smile and friendship. May my brother Rest In Eternal Peace...He Suffers No More! Bob Martinez

Matt was a generous and loyal friend going back to our high school days in Santa Fe, I was always impressed by his drive and work ethic to accomplish everything he set out to do. I have many good memories from those days. Though we did not see much of each other as life went on he was always there as a friend to me, extended family & anyone who he was able to help because he was that kind of person. RIP Dr. Thompson and deepest condolences to all friends & family.

I was one of Matt´s patients. My father, Fred Lovato, was a patient for many years and my sister, Roberta Woods, also was his patient. He took utmost care of my father and always had him laughing. He always asked how my dad was and when he learned of his passing, Matt was visibly saddened. I saw him last in Oct 2023 right after he moved the office. He was so proud of his new location. I will miss my fun, thorough, personable dermatologist. My condolences to the family.

We loved seeing Matt; we always looked forward to our clinic appointments. It was fun to compare notes about our grandson and Chris as they finished high school, college, and began their life journeys. Blessings to all of his loved ones; may the peace of our savior, Jesus Christ, hold you in His comforting embrace.

Being significantly senior in years I'm shocked and deeply saddened. Dr. Thompson just saw me in December appearing exactly as shown in the photo. He has been my Dermatologist since 2008. I'm going to miss him dearly. Everything mentioned regarding Dr. Thompson in the obit above is right on as I knew him. Despite never meeting any of his family I can't imagine the void now in their lives and can only grieve as one sharing this profound loss.

Dr Thompson was my dermatologist, and was such a remarkable person. We would always laugh and share stories about the Navy. His wife worked in the dermatology surgery center and she was just as personable and kind. He was a great man. RIP Shipmate!
