Mike Hendrix Obituary

Hendrix, Mike

Richard Lee

Hendrix

Better known as Mike, stepped into his Savior's presence on July 1, 2016. He was born in Lamesa, TX, March 12, 1942, and lived the majority of his life in the mountains of Chama, NM. He served his country in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Hawaii. In this paradise, he met the love of his life, Patty. They were married in 1963 and had 53 years together. Mike had many careers in his life including owning his own construction company, working on tunnels, inspecting various construction projects, selling real estate and even selling cars.

He found the most fulfillment in his service for the Lord. He was involved in the Chama Baptist and Del Norte Baptist youth groups for years, where he was able to show the kids a practical, humble example of Jesus. Mike unconditionally loved the kids and his role in their lives. What he was best known for was his gentle spirit and giving heart. He gave to others even when he didn't have enough.

He is survived by wife Patty; son Ron and his family Tonja, Zach, Casey, and Greg; and daughter Suzanne and her family, Lynn, Randy, and Kyle. He has brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention. Mr. Mike is also survived by his Christian family whom he loved dearly.
