Yetter, Ralph Frederick



Ralph Yetter, age 81, died May 13, 2015. He grew up in Indianapolis, IN, and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Yetter received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering form Arizona State University. His graduate work was done at the University of California at Berkeley, San Jose State University, and the University of New Mexico. Mr. Yetter was a Registered Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering in the states of California and New Mexico. His career included working at Hercules Powder Company, NASA Lewis Research, where he worked on the Apollo Program, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Kerr McGee Uranium Mill. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory, as Head Engineer of the Water Division for the laboratory.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Yetter of 52 years; daughter, Ava Boswell MD; son-in-law, Brad Boswell PhD; granddaughter, Aspen Boswell; all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his two sisters, Shirley Brancheau of Indianapolis, IN and Helen Bliss of Shreveport, LA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In retirement, he spent time working to complete a second Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and became a master welder.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Indianapolis, IN on May 28th. A Commemoration of Life Tree was planted in his honor in a local park. His final interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
