Ray Quintana Obituary

Ray A. Quintana

Ray A. Quintana, 81, of Albuquerque passed away unexpectedly May 23rd due to complications from a life-long chronic medical condition that he handled with incredible spirit and grace. He was an amazing father who loved his family wholeheartedly.

At age 21, Ray started an Air Force career that would span 25 years and several countries. Both a decorated veteran and a private sector success, he traveled the world and his country to help establish the telecom signal system used today. Ray had great talent (and love) for science, history, computers, radar, radio technology, tinkering and coaxing the best of those around him. He also loved to read, fish, travel and live like a local in foreign lands. His gifts were many, but rooted in a deep-seated humility and humor. Not a vain or materialistic bone in his body, "Pretty Ray" absolutely loved to laugh and had a knack for finding the joy in everyday life. He was unique, innately inclusive, adventurous and curious to the end and will be sorely missed.

Ray A. Quintana is survived by his son Ray L. and wife Belem, daughter Marie and husband Scott, grandson Corey and siblings Gigi, Toni and Johnny as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday June 21st at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family asks that any donations given in Ray's name, go towards a child or family in need.
