Rena Arrigoni Obituary

Rena Arrigoni

Rena Arrigoni passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters, Regina and Annette. She was born in Albuquerque on February 12, 1926 to her parents, Amerigo and Davina Menicucci. She was preceded in death by her, husband, Albert; daughter, Arlene; sister, Louise Stein; and brother, Mario Menicucci.

Rena leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping others. Most notably Rena and her husband,

Albert founded Casa Angelica in 1967, a home for

severely handicapped individuals here in Albuquerque. In 1997, she chronicled the story of Casa Angelica in her book, "Casa Angelica: Arlene's Legacy," sharing the triumphs and challenges faced by the organization through the years. Today, Casa Angelica has a remarkable impact by providing essential services, support, and advocate for disabled children and their families.

Rena's remarkable life was filled with numerous accomplishments and accolades. She was a recipient of the prestigious, Saint Joseph Good Samaritan award, recognizing her selfless acts of charity and service, as well as the University of Notre Dame Award of the Year.

Rena was also a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, which reflected her deep faith and commitment to her Catholic beliefs. She was a member of the Albuquerque Country Club, which she found great joy in the company of her close friends.

Her departure has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit continue to resonate within the hearts of those she touched, reminding us to embrace life, with the same enthusiasm and zest that she embodied.

In honor of Rena's memory, a private mass will be celebrated at Casa Angelica. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Casa Angelica. Please visit our online guestbook for Rena at www.frenchfunerals.com.
