Richard Heise Obituary

Dr. Richard Augustin Heise

Richard Heise, beloved husband, father and grandfather joined his heavenly father on Sunday, April 23, 2023. After serving in the US Army Richard attended Kansas State University where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and met the love of his life Catherine. Upon moving to Albuquerque, he obtained a master's degree in toxicology from UNM focusing on cancer research. Richard established the St. Francis Animal Clinic where he compassionately served the community for over 50 years. Richard and Catherine were blessed with 5 children, Patrick, Georgianna, Magdalana, Francesca and Carissima; and 3 grandchildren, Francis, Clair and Joseph. Richard lived his faith, was a gentle soul and was a role model to many. He practiced the virtues of faithfulness, dedication, forgiveness, generosity, and love. He will be greatly missed.

Dr Heise was an extremely kind and supportive vet to our dog, Joe. He was also very empathetic to me because I was so worried about Joe.
I will always remember Dr Heise and his example of Christ´s love to humans and nonhumans

Dr. Heise was our family vet for decades and took wonderful care of our many kitties and family dog.
He was always such a comfort to our family and our beloved pets throughout their life journeys. St Francis Clinic was the most wonderful place for pet care.

Dr Heise was our vet for decades. I always enjoyed his thoughtfulness, his patience and expertise. I was impressed with how he was probably the most experienced vet i ever knew and was humble about it. Rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

My first meeting with Dr. Heise happened about 45 years ago when I took our pregnant bulldog to him for help with her delivery. She could not deliver naturally so Dr. Heise performed a ceasarean and he had me help deliver the puppies - the bulldog mother and puppies all did well, thanks to Dr. Heise. Dr. Heise has taken care of all my dogs over the years and I loved him as a kind and gentle person/veterinarian. He is now in heaven and I send my love and prayers to Mrs. Heise and family. Thank you.
