I am the only survivor of Costancia Manfredi-Montoya.
I did not know that Robert as we had known him for years had passed. First, he was the son of "Pete" my mothers dear friend who we knew as a friend in our favorite store Paris Shoes; Robert I came to know when he recommended me for a teaching position at TVI(now CNM) so many, many years ago. Every time I met Robert he knew how to rekindle old acquaintances
he never forgot my name and always asked for my mother, the last time I saw him I informed him of my mother's passing and he held my hand warmly in his while expressing condolences for my family. May God
Bless you Robert as your soul awaits your official entry into God's Heaven when He returns. Thank you for being an honest, and truthful man.

I just ran across this memorial to Robert "Bobby". I am the youngest son of Amerigo Giannini of Hammond, IN. My father was very close to Pete and all of his children. Dad lived in Albuquerque in the mid to late 1930's where he met my Mother, Helen Richards Giannini. They married in 1942. I recall meeting Robert in Albuquerque when I was a teenager, on the golf course at Albuquerque, CC. There, he and my Dad enjoyed a round of golf...I pulled the cart,...as they played their favorite game together. Bobbie was a favorite of my Dad. Dad was very close in age to Rolondo & Albert and of course Pete was Pete. Still, "Bobby" was special and someone Dad stayed close to as well,...

I recall Bobby...Mr Matteucci....encouraging me to pursue a career in golf. He was passionate about the game. I think his passion, along with my Father's....lives within me still today. I share this only as a sign of respect to a man that my Father duly respected and made sure, as a young man, I met. I am very glad I did. I only saw this memorial to him today and felt compelled to share my recollections. God bless all the Matteucci and Domenicci families of Albuquerque. They were very good to my family and we are eternally grateful.

My most heartfelt condolences for your family. I grew up with the Matteucci family in the 60's. My first job ever was as a part-time cashier in the downtown store with Pete and Louis Matteucci while studying at UNM. They, together with Marge and Dolly, taught me the importance of doing a job well and doing it right. When the Winrock store opened, and stayed open on Friday night until 9pm, I took on extra hours with Bobby and learned what merchandising and promoting were all about. He was the new whiz kid in Albuquerque commerce. I later watched as he spread his interests to TVI ... also a pet project of my father's ... seeing that there were opportunities out there for everyone. Truly an incredible example for his family and those he touched. A man to be proud of.

Bobby:

I'm deeply saddened that you're gone. We were great friends at AHS and UNM and I feel so fortunate that we reconnected just a few years ago. You left a great legacy in your family and your good works. God Bless you.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Bobby was a great man and I am better for having known him. I may have forgotten where the steakhouse was (Estancia?), but I know I will never forget the bus ride there and back for Bob Jr's senior party. I laughed the whole way! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I grew up with Paris shoes...every fall my mom took us there for back to school shoes...love the x-ray machine, where you could see your bones, and the way they actually waited on you and measured your feet. And the dip in the road nearby on Central...it was truly one of Albuquerque's early mainstays. Even cut my hair as Buster Brown did. Thanks for the memories...

Please accept my condolences. My dad worked for Paris shoe stores for many years back in the 1950's and 1960's. When my father had a heart attack and then was diagnosed with cancer, Bobby and the rest of the Matteucci's were so very kind to our family. My father died more than 40 years ago, yet my memories of Bobby and his brothers are forever etched in my mind. Thank you, Bobby, for being you!

.Those of us who worked with Bobby at TVI/CNM were so fortunate to be supported and loved by Robert P. Matteucci. He was a Board member for more than 25 years and served as a mentor and friend to me and my predessors. But more importantly he spent time getting to know faculty and staff throughout the college and was often seen having a meal with TVI/CNM employees. Both Bobby and Mary were always there, always working to make things better for the students we serve. CNM is a better place because of Bobby Matteucci.

Bobby was also a good friend to me and my husband. We cherished our friendship. He was a great man. May he rest in peace..
